Kentucky Lake Region Daily Forecast (October 11, 2011)

A cold front will be crossing the region during the early morning hours of Thursday. In its advance on Wednesday, it will be mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers possible in the afternoon and evening hours. Rain chances increase Wednesday night into Thursday as the front arrives. Thunderstorms are also possible and a few may be strong with gusty winds the main threat.

Occasional rain is likely on Thursday and turning breezy and cooler. Rainfall amounts of 0.50" to 1" are expected across the region before the rains taper off Thursday afternoon.

Sunny sky conditions will prevail for Friday and Saturday and then clouds mix in with the sunshine on Sunday as a weak frontal boundary slices through the southern Illinois and western Kentucky.

A sunny start with give way to increasing clouds in the afternoon on Monday as a very strong frontal system approaches. It will pass through the Lakes Region on Tuesday with another high chance for rainfall likely. Also more windy conditions and cooler, again.
